Intelligent Lift Device / G-Force

Ingersoll Rand Air Balancers

Today's material handling applications require an ergonomic lift assist that interacts with the operator and multiplies his/her effort. The Balancer offers lifting solutions to meet these needs through "float" and built-in safety features. Ideal applications include tool balancing, weld gun suspension, and fixture suspension. IR offers 5 models of the Pneumatic Balancer that have a load capacity between 50 to 2000 lbs. (22 to 909 kg). Cable travel in terms of up/down movement varies from 40 to 120 inches (1016 to 3048mm) depending on the model. Balancer suspension kits can accomodate enclosed track, I-Beam, patented track, and hook mount. An optional Z stop offers protection against the drifting of loads in the event the main air supply is interrupted. See Ergonomic Handling Systems catalog for details. Three type of controls are provided depending on application - BA, ZA, or EA.

Model "BA"
The "BA" control options have no pendant control and are used for either single load suspending applications at a given height or single load application where both hands are used to manually raise, lower and position "Float" a load with virtually no part weight or resistance to the operator. The "BA" controller is a self-relieving regulator that automatically adds or exhausts air to raise or lower (float) the load to the desired height where it will remain suspended. The regulator can also be adjusted to slowly raise a load up and out of an operators way.

Model "ZA"
The "ZA" pendant control is the most popular and is designed for high speed precision handling of variable weight loads. Up/down movement is accomplished through the use of an ergonomically designed pendant with low-effort, color coded thumb levers. After positioning the load with the pendant control, the unit defaults into a "Float" mode that allows the operator up to 18 inches to manually adjust the load to final position.

Model "EA"
The EA controls are used constant weight repetitive parts handing within a 40 lb. range that need operator handling of the parts similar to loading a machine tool. The selector switch has three modes that the operator uses in sequence. The operator attaches the end effecter or hook to the part and switches to "Hi-load" which then automatically lifts the load for transfer. The operator then switches to "Lo-load" which allows the operator to float the part up or down into position with virtually no force required on the component. When the part is in final position, the operator then switches the mode to "Un-load" to release the part from the handling device or hook.
Wire Rope Hoists

Wire Rope Hoists

Standard configurations include normal headroom, low headroom and double girder trolley designs. Hoists in short ton ratings (ASME) or metric ratings (FEM)
meet a wide variety of application requirements:

  • 1/2 - 80 ton (500 - 80,000 kg) capacities
  • Lifts starting at 13ft (4m) to 320ft (100m) and beyond
  • Lifting speed range 10/1.5 to 62/10 fpm (3/0.5 - 19/3 m/min)
  • 208, 230, 460, 575/3/60 or 380/3/50 power supply
  • Single-reeved or double-reeved
